WILD CARD: The AI Short Film That Premiered at Gold Coast Convention Centre.

On June 28th, in front of a packed audience at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, something cinematic and utterly unexpected hit the big screen. The world premiere of WILD CARD, a short film like no other, brought Bruce Ryder’s origin story to life in a way only AI could.

Written and produced by Miss Em of Duke and Dame AI, with generative design and animation crafted collaboratively by Miss Em and Halim Alrasihi, this three-minute short film used AI tools to reimagine the Gold Coast of the 1970s. Blending real archival footage with generated visuals, the film created a vivid, nostalgic that perfectly framed the story of Bruce Ryder’s unlikely rise.

From flipping cocktails to becoming the face of summer, WILD CARD revealed why Bruce chose the 1970s and '80s to call home in the metaverse. The film didn’t shy away from the controversies either—it lifted the lid on the night of the infamous mugshot, a moment that earned him the name "King of Cavil." And just when the audience thought they knew where this story was going, the film offered a sneak peek of Bruce being cast in the upcoming sci-fi AI feature, Genesis 3.

This wasn’t just a short film. It was a proof of concept, a narrative seed designed to embed audiences in Bruce Ryder’s backstory and lay the foundation for future chapters in his evolving universe.

With WILD CARD, Miss Em and her collaborators showed the power of AI to craft hyper fiction narrative, build lore, and anchor a fictional celebrity in a time and publish it. For many in the audience, it was their first taste of hyper fiction and judging by the reactions, it won’t be the last.
